Modern Slavery Statement
Carpet Cleaning Mayfair Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made on behalf of Carpet Cleaning Mayfair in respect of the financial year ending 31 December. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and our supply chains. Carpet Cleaning Mayfair operates in the professional cleaning sector, providing carpet cleaning and related services to residential and commercial customers.
We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, bonded labour, child labour and human trafficking. Carpet Cleaning Mayfair is fully committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not take place anywhere in our organisation or our supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Carpet Cleaning Mayfair maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and any other business partners.
We expect all who have, or seek to have, a business relationship with Carpet Cleaning Mayfair to familiarise themselves with our stance on modern slavery and to act at all times in a way that is consistent with our values. Any breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any breach by a supplier or contractor may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Audits
Our supply chains primarily include providers of cleaning products, machinery, consumables, uniforms, transport, property services, and certain professional and administrative services. We recognise that risks may arise in these areas, particularly where products or components are sourced from higher-risk regions or where there is reliance on low-paid or temporary labour.
To address these risks, Carpet Cleaning Mayfair is implementing proportionate due diligence and supplier audit processes. New suppliers are assessed for ethical and labour standards as part of our onboarding process, including confirmation that they comply with relevant labour, health and safety, and human rights laws. Where appropriate, we may request written confirmations of compliance, conduct site visits, or require suppliers to complete questionnaires on their own supply chains.
We reserve the right to carry out audits or inspections of key suppliers, either directly or through independent third parties, to verify that standards are being met. If a supplier is found to be involved in modern slavery or to be in serious breach of our requirements, we will take immediate corrective action, which may include suspending or ending the commercial relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Carpet Cleaning Mayfair encourages all employees, workers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to speak up if they have any concerns or suspicions regarding modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chains. We are committed to ensuring that any concerns raised in good faith are taken seriously, investigated promptly and sensitively, and addressed appropriately.
Individuals may raise concerns through internal reporting to management or by using any whistleblowing mechanisms communicated within the business. Reports can be made anonymously if preferred. No person will suffer any detrimental treatment, retaliation, or victimisation for reporting a concern about modern slavery in good faith, even if it turns out to be unfounded.
Training, Awareness and Continuous Improvement
Relevant managers and staff involved in procurement, recruitment and supplier management are made aware of the risks of modern slavery and the importance of vigilance. We work to ensure that our people understand how to recognise indicators of exploitation and how to report any concerns.
We review our procedures regularly to improve our ability to identify and manage risks. This includes monitoring industry guidance and developing our due diligence tools, such as updated supplier questionnaires and risk-based checks in higher-risk categories or regions.
Monitoring and Annual Review
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by the management of Carpet Cleaning Mayfair. The review considers any incidents reported, changes in our business operations, developments in legislation and guidance, and feedback from stakeholders. Where appropriate, we update our policies, procedures and training to enhance our effectiveness in preventing and addressing modern slavery.
The updated statement is approved by the leadership of Carpet Cleaning Mayfair and published to reflect our current approach and commitments. We remain dedicated to continual improvement and to working collaboratively with our employees, suppliers and customers to help eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking from our industry and beyond.
